Match it and personalize it! A stylish idea for your card giving this Christmas is to create a custom card by adding your own greeting, and then send it with a matching customized postage stamp. (Unfortunately this idea only works for the US postal service.) There are both secular and religious-themed sets available, covering every style and topic imaginable. Here are three eye-catching examples, all new on Zazzle this year. 'Stocking stuffers' or 'stocking fillers'? Whether you are a British filler of christmas stockings, or an American who prefers to stuff yours, it’s one of those simple Christmas traditions we love to return to year after year. In my family, we enjoy stocking fillers - small inexpensive presents delivered by Father Christmas for all the children in the house. My kids are all grown up now, but they still look forward eagerly to their stockings, and I do believe I enjoy the tradition even more than they do. Starting in the autumn, I search out small, whimsical gifts, some useful things (shower gel), some treats (chocolates), and some novelty items (funny socks).
The nearest my kids will get to finding gold in their stockings is those bags of gold foil covered chocolate coins on sale everywhere at this time of year! But what if you want something a bit different? Something quirky? Personalised? Here are some ideas - with a personalised stocking to carry the loot:
Card sales are picking up, and Zazzle has a sale running for a few days offering 50% off all cards (includes invitations and flat photo cards as well as standard greeting cards). It's only on until midnight 8th November, so what better incentive do you need. Go and dust off your lists and order something special and personalized while there is plenty of time and prices are low. For further christmas shopping encouragement, there is also 15% off sitewide, so you can shop for individual one-of-a-kind gifts too. Here are two examples of cards that have been bought today at sale prices. These were designed with the sporty person in mind, and with text that is fully customizable to suit the buyer's needs and preferences. Christmas gifts by Special Delivery! Flash Sale Here is a great example of the bargains to be had if you do a bit of Zazzle sale spotting (see my "Canny Shopper..." June article about shopping tips and tricks). A shopper from the United Kingdom bagged a pack of 100 of these smart mini business cards for only £6.02 (USD 7.47) - a massive 50% saving in one of Zazzle's special one-day sales. Lots of new products are being introduced by Zazzle, including an extended range of jigsaw puzzles - more size options, and larger pieces for kids. Here I have chosen a couple of fun examples that can be personalized. Just in time for Christmas!
The sun is shining and we are all having fun enjoying our summer holidays. Meanwhile I have been busy at my computer, thinking about winter snow and santa hats, and planning for Christmas! They say that for designers and retailers "Christmas is in July". If that is true, I am late already :-( Never mind. My Christmas-themed collections cover Sport, Animals, Cats and Dogs, and Birds. I have searched through Zazzle's millions of winter and Christmas-themed designs to find the best ones to include on this website, and I am expanding my collections day by day. The early bird shoppers are out already, to snap up bargains in Zazzle's summer sales. A new design I created this year for Christmas stamps has already sold and I am thrilled to think it will appear on someone's mail soon. Here it is: By RowingbyJules for Zazzle
NEW ON ZAZZLE Just introduced: foil printing in gold and silver on greeting cards (in mini, small and standard card sizes). This brings a whole new dimension to their card offerings, which you can find in a separate category here
Zazzle designers have been having lots of fun experimenting, combining metallic elegance on the outside and gorgeous colour on the inside. Here are a couple that beautifully show off this new technique.
ZAZZLE NEWS They have a great new range of golfing equipment and accessories. There is a new maker GolfBallsDotCom producing divot tools, hat clips, ball markers, and leather gloves. See them on the Zazzle website here
I am looking forward to browsing, to find some interesting new designs to add to my collections. Meanwhile, here are a couple that caught my eye.
Ten tips to save money, and to make the most of what Zazzle has to offer
1. Buy in the sales
Zazzle’s basic prices often seem expensive, but they have frequent sales with good discounts, often 30% or more. Usually, the sales are targeted at particular product ranges, but they often tack on a sitewide discount as well. Check here for the current offers https://www.zazzle.com/coupons 2. US shoppers, use Zazzle Black Frequent shoppers in the US have the option of signing up for Zazzle Black, which gives free shipping in return for a small annual fee. They have two programs, Standard or (for a larger fee) 2-Day. Check here for full details and to take out a free one month trial https://www.zazzle.com/zazzleblack
3. Look for “template” products
The term “template” sounds a bit techie, but don’t be put off: these are actually the easiest products to personalize to get exactly what you want. If you are using “Search” to find products, you may notice on the left hand side of the page under Design Options a ”template products” tick box. If you tick this, you will be shown those products where the designer has done the hard work of customization for you and created a template. All you have to do is enter the text you want - and on photo products upload your photo - in the boxes where it says “personalize this template”. Check that it all looks great, and you are done. 4. Don’t be overwhelmed There are millions of options on Zazzle. Searching through the departments and categories to find exactly what you want can be hard work, but ultimately rewarding when you find the perfect, unique and personalized gift. There are gift guides to help. There are several guides on the Zazzle website. Here on my Weebly website I have hand-picked various niche selections eg Sports-themed. 5. Faux means faux Zazzle is a print on demand site, with the emphasis on PRINT. So if the description of an item says “faux glitter” for example, or “leopard look”, “or gold effect”, then remember that although it might look quite real on your computer screen, it is a print rendition of a texture, not the real thing. Some of the digital effects designers have created are extremely clever. Just be aware that it is printed, and you won’t be disappointed.
6. If you are not satisfied, send it back
Zazzle’s guarantee “We promise 100% satisfaction. If you don't absolutely love it, we'll take it back!” The guarantee works. I used it once.
7. Change the t-shirt style
If you spot a design you like, but it is on a t-shirt and you would prefer a sweatshirt say, you CAN have a sweatshirt instead. When you are looking at the t-shirt on its individual product page, look on the right hand side where it says “Style” and click on “More (154)”. This calls up the complete list which you can then filter by recipient, type and style. When you have found your preferred style, don’t forget to select your preferred color option as well, and edit any personalizable text. 8. Check the Collections Many designers arrange their offerings in Collections. These can be found halfway down the page in the “Found in Collections” section. Say you see a design you like on a t-shirt and you are thinking “that pattern would look great on a bag”. Well, chances are the designer agrees with you, and by clicking on the Collection you can see what other products they have made available with that design. Collections are especially useful when you are looking for co-ordinating items for a wedding, or a party for example. 9. Plan and shop in advance Especially at Christmas, and especially for non-US customers, shipping times can be longer than you expect. All items are printed to order and some are produced by small specialist manufacturers, so bear this in mind if you need a gift in a hurry. Or there is always Express Shipping (at extra cost of course). 10. Create your own Collections If you set up your own account on the Zazzle website, you will be able to create your own collection. This is a great way to put together a possible shopping list of products that have caught your eye, to find again that watch that would be a perfect Christmas present for Uncle Jack for example. Make your list, and then wait for a suitable sale to come around (see tip 1).
Zazzle has a whole host of regional websites, that mirror, more or less, its main US site.
These websites will display prices in your local currency, offer tailored shipping options, and also only display those items that are actually available in your country. (There are restrictions because of local regulations, stock availability etc).
Check the possibilities here https://www.zazzle.com/international
Do bear in mind that the international websites suffer the vagaries of translation (I assume it is mostly done by machines rather than humans), so it can be quite hilarious, or frustrating, depending on your point of view.
